Acceptable Password Guide
To protect our users and our system network from outside intrusion, this
system requires that all accounts have passwords that cannot be guessed by
automated programs or "curious" computer users. This will insure
that nobody can use your account to read your Email or send Email from your
account or use your account for illegal purposes such as software piracy or
breaking into other computer systems.
Password Requirements
Your password should:
be at least 6 to 8 characters in length.
not be a word or acronym that can be found in a dictionary.
not be a palindrome (such as 'madam', etc).
not contain two equivalent substrings (such as 'byebye')
contain at least two numeric characters.
contain at least one non-alphanumeric character (!@#$%,etc)
Please Note: Unix passwords are CaSe sensitive.
