Ethernet and PPP are both link-layer protocols. That's orthogonal and counter-productive. (A reason some of us consider PPPOE to be an abomination.) You probably just want to add a routing table entry, and then each will happily route IP packets between the systems.... _______________________________________________ Pppext mailing list Pppext@ietf.org https://www1.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/pppext From pppext-bounces@ietf.org Fri Nov 02 14:39:02 2007 Return-path: Received: from [127.0.0.1] (helo=stiedprmman1.va.neustar.com) by megatron.ietf.org with esmtp (Exim 4.43) id 1Io1Os-0006mj-7x; Fri, 02 Nov 2007 14:37:46 -0400 Received: from [10.91.34.44] (helo=ietf-mx.ietf.org) by megatron.ietf.org with esmtp (Exim 4.43) id 1Io1Or-0006lq-0M for pppext@ietf.org; Fri, 02 Nov 2007 14:37:45 -0400 Received: from ihemail1.lucent.com ([135.245.0.33]) by ietf-mx.ietf.org with esmtp (Exim 4.43) id 1Io1Op-00016K-Qz for pppext@ietf.org; Fri, 02 Nov 2007 14:37:44 -0400 Received: from ihrh1.emsr.lucent.com (h135-1-218-53.lucent.com [135.1.218.53]) by ihemail1.lucent.com (8.13.8/IER-o) with ESMTP id lA2IbdYG012862; Fri, 2 Nov 2007 13:37:39 -0500 (CDT) Received: from cliff.eng.ascend.com (cliff.eng.ascend.com [135.140.53.169]) by ihrh1.emsr.lucent.com (8.13.8/emsr) with ESMTP id lA2Ibc4f015929; Fri, 2 Nov 2007 13:37:39 -0500 (CDT) Received: from igoyret-c1.alcatel-lucent.com (dhcp-135-140-27-194 [135.140.27.194]) by cliff.eng.ascend.com (8.13.1/8.13.1) with ESMTP id lA2IbcD3009178; Fri, 2 Nov 2007 11:37:38 -0700 Message-Id: <200711021837.lA2IbcD3009178@cliff.eng.ascend.com> X-Mailer: QUALCOMM Windows Eudora Version 7.1.0.9 Date: Fri, 02 Nov 2007 11:37:22 -0700 To: "rajani rajani" From: Ignacio Goyret Subject: Re: [Pppext] Transmitting Ethernet frames on PPP link.
