What is the benefit of storing flow identification information in the BC/BUL instead of storing it in a database shared by possibly other mobility management protocols? Yes, BC and BUL are already defined entities whereas "a common database" is not, but still in my opinion BC and BUL are not the place to store such information unless there is a good argument for it. -- Tero _______________________________________________ Monami6 mailing list Monami6@ietf.org https://www1.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/monami6 From monami6-bounces@ietf.org Wed Sep 27 03:16:42 2006 Received: from [127.0.0.1] (helo=stiedprmman1.va.neustar.com) by megatron.ietf.org with esmtp (Exim 4.43) id 1GSTej-0005pF-Pv; Wed, 27 Sep 2006 03:16:33 -0400 Received: from [10.91.34.44] (helo=ietf-mx.ietf.org) by megatron.ietf.org with esmtp (Exim 4.43) id 1GSTei-0005nU-FY for monami6@ietf.org; Wed, 27 Sep 2006 03:16:32 -0400 Received: from numenor.qualcomm.com ([129.46.51.58]) by ietf-mx.ietf.org with esmtp (Exim 4.43) id 1GSTeg-0006uP-36 for monami6@ietf.org; Wed, 27 Sep 2006 03:16:32 -0400 Received: from magus.qualcomm.com (magus.qualcomm.com [129.46.61.148]) by numenor.qualcomm.com (8.13.6/8.12.5/1.0) with ESMTP id k8R7GSEs020360 (version=TLSv1/SSLv3 cipher=DHE-RSA-AES256-SHA bits=256 verify=FAIL) for ; Wed, 27 Sep 2006 00:16:29 -0700 Received: from NAEXBR02.na.qualcomm.com (naexbr02.qualcomm.com [10.46.92.109]) by magus.qualcomm.com (8.13.6/8.13.6/1.0) with ESMTP id k8R7GSRo009018 for ; Wed, 27 Sep 2006 00:16:28 -0700 (PDT) Received: from NAEX14.na.qualcomm.com ([10.47.5.242]) by NAEXBR02.na.qualcomm.com with Microsoft SMTPSVC(6.0.3790.1830); Wed, 27 Sep 2006 00:16:28 -0700 X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft Exchange V6.5 Content-class: urn:content-classes:message MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Subject: RE: [Monami6] new revision of draft-soliman-monami6-flow-binding-02 Date: Wed, 27 Sep 2006 00:16:25 -0700 Message-ID: <7EB20EA0938B4D42A2D82689365C9B7A1E8FE0@NAEX14.na.qualcomm.com> In-Reply-To: <451A2388.1040703@ericsson.com> X-MS-Has-Attach: X-MS-TNEF-Correlator: Thread-Topic: [Monami6] new revision of draft-soliman-monami6-flow-binding-02 thread-index: AcbiBBZKsGWJsvsTSj+y2ZMJqjRCXwAAEgCA From: "Soliman, Hesham" To: "Monami6 WG" X-OriginalArrivalTime: 27 Sep 2006 07:16:28.0028 (UTC) FILETIME=[D94FF3C0:01C6E204] X-Spam-Score: 1.1 (+) X-Scan-Signature: b19722fc8d3865b147c75ae2495625f2 X-BeenThere: monami6@ietf.org X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.5 Precedence: list Reply-To: Monami6 WG List-Id: Monami6 WG List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , Errors-To: monami6-bounces@ietf.org Hi Tero,=20 > One quick question. You could choose to implement things differently in anyway you want as long as the external behavious is consistent with the spec. Similarly You could choose to implement a BC in your NC, or a routing table in the NC. There is no point in mandating anything here. For clarity though we describe conceptual data. I guess that "conceptually" was just then too easy to miss for me. -- Tero _______________________________________________ Monami6 mailing list Monami6@ietf.org https://www1.ietf.org/mailman/listinfo/monami6
