At UW Madison, we are currently in the process of looking for a calendar package for our campus.  We are most interested in finding an "Open Source" package that meets our needs.  If you come up with candidates that meet your requirements during your search, I would be very interested in hearing what you find. whether or not they are open source.  As you progress, if you  could post a message to this list, I think that would be very helpful.

If all you have to do is read the FB file and work out a pretty gantt chart vs implement a whole repeat rule set of logic, working our FB for a particular date range is a no-brainer. I find the way this was speced elegant and efficient. The recurrence is implemented in the main iCal and can flow through to any FB files required.
